“Behind every beautiful thing, there's some kind of pain.”

- Bob Dylan

15.05.2013

Hello tech addicts.
Today I present to you, the most anticipated map sequel in few years. Yes, you are correct; Bob Dylan is back! This time, with even heavier scenery, harder curves, tight drifts, more speed, and more action. Brace yourself, for a map even your PC can't handle.

*Words from author:
I guess I'm as surprised as you are. Let me tell you something. If you missed my Knocking On Heavens Door map, you sir missed a lot. Before you continue reading and eventually playing, go and download and play the first map. I'm telling you, you won't regret it. Now that you have an idea how a hard tech looks like, brace yourself for this one. Go on, try it, I'll wait here. *20 minutes of epic camera 8 scanning of scenery, and 10 minutes of playing later* ; So, how was it? It looks sweet doesn't it? Well, it took me about 1 week to finish the scenery. And I'm not even joking. This masterpiece was/is and probably will be my biggest work so far. It's not just some random block, although it might look like that, believe me, it isn't. If you in fact did spend 20 minutes going around with camera 8, and just admiring the scenery, you will notice that everything is connected. It took so much time, setting up a theme to match the first map, and then placing blocks in a certain way to connect everything. It's just crazy to think about it. I almost lost my mind while making it. But, in the end, it was totally worth it. The map is 4970 coppers big, and even though that's not a really big number, you will lag. I promise you that. If you are used to playing at maximum settings with no lag, this map will change that. If not, I'm really happy you have a 800€ worth computer. Let's talk a little bit about the track route it self. If you're expecting a cake walk or an easy tech map, you can just stop reading now, and close this page in your browser. This map is something evil on its own. If you don't get angry at least once while playing it, you should be a surgeon or a pilot. These turns and corners are so rough, you'll probably rage quit in the first 10 minutes. But hang on in there. When you finally learn the map, which I doubt you will, you'll see that it actually has a good flow, and the driving line is not that difficult at all, it just requires some skill, but other than that, it should be fine for an average player to finish it. It's easy to finish, but hell to learn and to master. I have also made a light version, for those who can't stand lag, and just want to see the driving line and learn the map. I also want to apologize. I have contacted   seaFs about the MediaTracker (MT) work, but it seems that he left TM and moved on. If you don't know who he is, why the hell haven't you downloaded my first map? Download it, and enjoy his MT work. It's amazing. I have also contacted him in the old ESWC tmx, but he's also inactive there too. I apologize because he couldn't deliver you another epic intro. To be honest, I still, after 2 years, have no idea how could he done such a beautiful thing. I have opened his work in MT many times, but it is still all so confusing. I hope you like my simple intro, and I hope you enjoy the map. Cheers!

hi.
  pascow.esu 15-May-2013
how the hell can one be so arrogant
  Dule 15-May-2013
Magic?
  pascow.esu 15-May-2013
No seriously, after reading the AC I expect the best techmap + the best scenery ever
  Dule 15-May-2013
Did you like it?
  pascow.esu 15-May-2013
I didnt play it yet, just watched the GPS
  SapphiroN 15-May-2013
Remind me to leave a comment about the scenery.
  dan!el 15-May-2013
it's cam 7, not cam 8... 8 zooms. so, get your shit together and don't try to be more arrogant than me.

also, from GPS seems like flow is really wtf.
  Dule 15-May-2013
Cam 8 only zooms? You move forward with cam 8 and with 4, 5, 6 you go left, back, right. Get your facts straight.
  dan!el 15-May-2013
okay, used a wrong word. still, the CAM is on 7, and 4,5,6,8 just move the cam around.

The only thing that changed positively since i last saw a track of yours is that you improved your english skills a little bit. Despite this favour you did us, your arrogance went higher than i ever expected it to be possible. The scenery is somehow even pretty bad if you ask me as most of its parts look better from above (and even there only okay) than when being looked at from the road. Some drifts are odd, most are basic, the whole track has nothing to do with what you promised us in your author comment. So better get off your high horse and try being a decent builder first. Thank you.
  vneck 15-May-2013
I haven't read throu all the ac and I'm not planning to do that but imo there's nothing wrong with being a bit cocky. It shows you have a healthy ego and a bit of it is more a troll anyway I think.. nevertheless it's an awesome track, the atmosphere is strong, he can afford it guys.
  'Infi 15-May-2013
As far as arrogance is conerned, you two might be a great match.. The only difference is that you indeed influenced the community a lot, he didn't and you cannot really tell me that there's anything awesome about the track even though it might be just about tastes once again..
  Dule 15-May-2013
Thank you for your constructive feedback on the map and your barely relevant oppinion on my author comment Mr. Infi.
As goes for Mr. V.neck, thank you too, for appreciating and enjoying the work I did. I will soon be making some changes in my author comment, explaining the situation and its meaning, because it seems that I have confused some people, and we don't want confusion around these very dangerous parts of .
  Joost»LT 16-May-2013
Wow seems the gates of hell have been opened.
Chill out infi, it's not like you to go into an all out rage.
*atleast that's how your comment feels to me*
  'Infi 16-May-2013
No, no, Joost, the comment is written exactly how i mean it.
  Dule 17-May-2013
Since there isn't any more place in the author comment (max 4000 characters), I'll just paste it here.

* As Mr. Infi pointed out in the comment section, my author comment is pretty arrogant. That is simply because I just wrote how I experienced and how I felt the map it self while I was building it. It should not be something you, or anyone, should be offended by. I did not mean to spread misleading information about the map, it is simply my opinion. I hope this clears out the confusion, and I hope you enjoy the map.

So, about this track...
It is quite great. It does have a concept and it pays off; the style and uniqueness are quite a bit higher than your standard maps
The slides themselves were pretty great too, however a few of them felt a bit overspeedy. Particularly the two 180 curves halfway in the track. For one it was really easy to catch some air before it, which makes it rather annoying to take and the other also came after a downhill with little room for a slide. You really should've made those slides better IMO.

Also, your AT is really rubbish actually. I had no problem beating it and I think I can get a 47.high if I'd hunt it more. Shortz's time, altough I haven't watched it yet, seems out of my reach though.

Regarding the scenery, it is nice. It definetely looks good on the overview, but mainly on first sight. During the driving I noticed you used the same blocks a bit too much. I think you could've done a much better job if you had also used the frame pillars and the white walls. It would've made the scenery more diverse without ruining the color palette. Overall, while driving the scenery didn't really stand out. I might've had too high expectations though, as you said you spend so much time on it. I've spend quite some time on my recent sceneries as well and I felt this didn't really do better than mine. And I still consider my scenery kinda mediocre. Atleast compared to scenerymasters such as v.neck and Sapphiron.

Overall I prefer this to the original Knocking on Heavens Door. This one is more speedy, less annoying, less buggy and much easier to learn. Though you have lost the 'hardcore tech' approach in that process. Because this is just standard (speed)tech. Or atleast, it doesn't stand out as much as the original.

I want to end with an advice for next time: don't write so much about your track in the AC. You can be a bit self-righteous in it, but keep it shorter. Now you just wrote too much raising too many hopes for those who finished reading it.
