Joost & Sky

Welcome to our entry for the ninth edition of the legendary Duo Track Contest, once again hosted by the lovely   shortz.esu. And after eight editions that had to live without a duo entry by Joost and Sky, we finally found the time for a collaboration. A dirt track was awaiting us, and if you have played and dirt tracks by either Joost or Sky before, you know that this combination means everything but normal. Joost's transitional style and Sky's unconventional flow passages resulted in a unorthodox and highly interesting offroader that might need some time to get used to, but is ultimately finishable for everyone. But you'll figure that out yourself!

We are looking at a map of 01:05 - 01:08 minutes length, depending on how long you want to hunt this. The map is transitional, but leaves you some room to breath in between transitions. Aligning with the name Moondust, the map is presented in the night mood. Joost took on the scenery and the GPS, while Sky made the short intro. Having bounced ideas off each other regularly, it is not fully discernable anymore who built which part of the route, but the first seven seconds are surely Joost's doing and Sky followed up with another ten to twelve seconds from there. Until the large drop into the dirt Joost took over again, while the last part of the map sees influences of both mappers.

Is made by   pascow.esu. Thanks a lot!

Thanks to shortz and the judges helping him for keeping this competition going! As mentioned by threading elsewhere earlier today, this competition is always a bit less about winning anything than about bringing community members together to collaborate on a fun and creative project. Keeps the spirits high and the community, even after twelve years, alive. We look forward to the Duo Track Contest #10!

There is a reroute on this track, saving up to 3 sec (watch my replay), you can fix it by adding a cp between cp 1 and 2

Thanks for the suggestion! Will update it

From a mapper perspective it's awesome. Many great ideas. But playing this track isn't as pleasing
User Award   pascow.esu 01-May-2020

i pick this track to play today and i don't regret it is a masterpiece with great creative work and nice ideas love all the transitions but special the white structure to the last jump to the finish and the tight cabin part after a turn in a middle feels so good amazing overall work, all the tracks of this year DTC9 are super cool

User Award   Triple.shoot 03-May-2020
Creative is top notch, fun not that much, but when done right is pleased as hell (one of those confused feeligns, like playing something you hate but when you finish you feel pretty good).
Gotta admit though, if this was uploaded on Joost's personal account, I would believe it was his doing.
User Award   meNtality.wp 03-May-2020
scenery could be more heavy, but the route is damn original, especially around the start

Scenery and signs are fine, orange + blue works out well at night, even though some poles look funny and ugly sometimes (imho of course!)

All in all good job guys :-)
