Hello, everyone!

Here's my entry to the Exchange Summer Competition. I decided to make a competition-styled map, which would be about a minute long. So here it is: Abilities.

The track is not as difficult as it looks. It's flowy (if you get it right of course), so the route shouldn't be hard to learn and to hunt. I've provided the map with a GPS as well, when you need assistance!

Enough chit-chat, start hunting already.

You really need to make more scenery...

If you have future projects, I'd really be free to make some scenery. Don't mind PMing me. I'll be hunting this track

Can't agree with Kumpel. This has about as much flow as a dried-out river bed.

You constantly have to slow down at points, that's annoying as hell. The turn to the left after the second drift? WTF? Look, if you want to hunt this map, you try to take as much speed with you through the turn. But if you've got a tight turn in totally the wring direection, you simply crash. That's the case at that point. After that, at the uphill into downhill-Dirft part, I'm just way too fast when I get a clean run. I have air time, no shuffling can change that. That's another crash point, which destroys the flow completely. Some other turns can't be taken close if you have decent speed. One of those is just before the last turn: that downhill curve. You simply crash. Or take it too wide. Another slowdown which destorys the flow.

I have no desire "hunting" this any further, because it's simply no fun.

Don't take this personally please, I just want to give you my personal opinion to help improve you style. My offer to build you scenery in the future still stands, because that's what this map is also really missing.

You "simply crash", because you're taking the corner too wide. Click for image number 1. I've put a comparison with Mariou on all the images.
Image number 1 shows how you enter the corner and because of that, you take the corner seriously wide, which you can see on image number 2. Click for image number 2. If you know that the next turn to the left uphill part is quite tight, then why in the world would you go so wide?!

You're way too fast, because you don't drift enough and therefore get a line (shown on image number 3) that is, once again, too wide. Click for image number 3. You're heading for the wall, rather than the next uphill section. If you drifted more (or if necessary, maybe even released gas for a slight moment), you would never ever have this problem.

Found a perfect example. After the uphill-downhill drift there's a corner which requires you to go left for a moment and then do a longer drift to the right. Look at image number 4 if you don't undestand, how wide you're taking this corner, just like every other corner on this track. Click for image number 4.

"Or take it too wide." You sort of explained it yourself. But to make it clear to you:
Look at image number 5 to see how you're taking the last corner. Click for image number 5. Again, I don't know where you're heading to. Compare it with Mariou's run for a moment. View image number 6 and guess what happens: you go too wide. Click for image number 6

What you've done here, is a safe run. Go tighter and be braver on the map.
(also before ranting you should take a look at the others' runs to see where you could go quicker and tighter; I hope you'll try the map again sometime)

Thanks for those explanations, kawi (:

I did know those things, no worries. I just felt while driving this map, that some turns don't feel exactly huntable. I know I did one very safe run, that ending is not what I leant anyway - I simply failed that.

But about the rest: when hunting - actually hunting a map, it's more fun if you try to get the best out of every drift. And in those points I explained it's simply that it's no fun anymore of you try to manage them the way you described. I'm not saying the map doesn't work, all I mean is that the route you need to take is no fun.

Please don't get me wrong, I simply want to tell you that you're missing somewhat of a natural flow. Next time you build a techmap, try thinking what would naturally come to your mind next. That would make for a more fun map overall ^^

And one last thing - you need a few more transitions. This is only road, that's... boring. Sorry. Add some platform, drops... you know. Stuff.

This is one of those tracks where you just slide around on and have fun...
I love the concept of having a track where there are no fancy things and all you have (and can do) is to attack every corner.

This track definetely is flowy, otherwise I wouldn't have awarded! That uphill/downhill part lets you make air indeed, but that adds some more depth and challenge to drive this track as fast as possible IMO
Anyway, I just really enjoy this one. Altough there wasn't much scenery, it still looked really nice as I drove through this twisted and intertwined route

So in conclusion: great work!

Has been a while since i drove tech,
but since this is more or less without transitions i was able to just hunt and improve my time a little.
Some really easy standard turns mixed with some where you have to think about the best line to do well in the following parts is a good combo for me

dude I have no words.. This track is absolutely awesome, brillant stuff and flow, everything is perfect, I have to say it's one of the best track i've ever drove, probably the best. I could play it hours without stopping.

very good hunting track

you can just play it again and again many times one after the other and still find ways to outdo yourself, it a great hunting map and the light scenery makes the player concentrate more on the route ... nice job !
